The Evansville Diocese is investigating new allegations
of abuse involving an area priest. The diocese
confirmed Monday that two separate allegations
of misconduct have been made against the Rev.
Francis Schoering, the 69-year-old pastor of Sts.
Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt, Ind.
Priest solicited nephew
The Rev. Mark Kurzendoerfer, whose duties as a
priest were terminated because he had forbidden
contact with children, has admitted he attempted
to solicit sex from his 17-year-old nephew.
